Process Control and Continuous Improvement Engineer
Position Purpose
Lead the standardization and performance management of extrusion and injection processes across manufacturing plants by establishing common guidelines, methodologies, and tools that ensure operational consistency, best-practice transfer, and operational excellence. Contribute to the sustainable improvement of productivity, capacity, efficiency, and process reliability through the analysis of strategic performance indicators, reduction of process variability, elimination of losses, digitalization initiatives, and the promotion of a data-driven continuous improvement culture.
Key Responsibilities
Process Standardization and Governance
Define and maintain standards for extrusion and injection processes, ensuring proper technical documentation, control criteria, and best practices.
Standardize methodologies, performance indicators, and management tools across plants to ensure operational consistency and process alignment.
Operational Performance Management
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as OEE, scrap, productivity, capacity utilization, efficiency, and energy consumption.
Identify performance deviations, coordinate root cause analysis activities, and follow up on action plans to close operational gaps.
Generate executive reports and promote benchmarking among plants to identify improvement opportunities and drive operational excellence.
Technical Support and Continuous Improvement
Provide technical support to process engineers in testing, optimization, troubleshooting, and process standardization activities.
Participate in improvement initiatives, material changes, new product introductions, capital investments, and process modifications.
Consolidate and replicate best practices, lessons learned, and technical solutions across the region.
Systems, Data, and Digitalization
Ensure the quality and integrity of information maintained in systems such as SAP, Atlas, and Infopro.
Develop analytical tools, reports, and dashboards that support performance monitoring and decision-making.
Drive the digitalization of technical and operational information to improve traceability, efficiency, and responsiveness.
Compliance and Operational Excellence
Ensure compliance with corporate policies, standards, and management systems related to safety, quality, environmental sustainability, and regulatory requirements.
Promote continuous improvement, operational discipline, efficient resource utilization, and waste reduction by actively participating in Manufacturing Excellence, Lean, TPM, and digital transformation initiatives.
Education and Experience Required
Education
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred: Specialization, diploma, or certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, or Operational Excellence-related disciplines.
Experience
Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, production, or operational excellence.
Experience in plastic extrusion and/or injection molding processes is highly desirable.
Strong experience in the analysis and management of production KPIs, including capacity, efficiency, productivity, process losses, and scrap.
Proven experience in the development and implementation of operational standards, procedures, templates, and process management systems.
Demonstrated participation in Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, productivity improvement, and waste reduction initiatives.
Experience leading or coordinating cross-functional teams and continuous improvement projects.
Proficiency in manufacturing systems and tools such as SAP, Atlas, Infopro, Power BI, or similar platforms.
Desirable experience in new product introductions, process trials, technical changes, mold validation, tooling, or new manufacturing technologies.
Advanced professional English proficiency (written and verbal).
